Recent advances in veterinary medical science have resulted in an increase in the number and type of vaccines that are available for use in cats, and improvements are continuously being made in their safety and efficacy. Veterinarians routinely recommend certain vaccines for all cats (called ‘core’ vaccines) whereas others are used more selectively according to circumstances. During your consultation, Dr. Wolfe will discuss with you which vaccines will best protect your cat, depending on your cat’s lifestyle and health needs. During your cat’s physical exam, if Dr. Wolfe concludes your cat is too sick or is not fit to be vaccinated, she will not do so. She uses vaccines judiciously and only if the pet is healthy enough to receive them. If your pet is vaccinated and they are not well, there is a chance your pet will have an adverse vaccine reaction. Dr. Wolfe and her trained staff will take the needed precautions to ensure your pet’s health and safety always remain a priority under our care.
